Margaret Sanger, birth control activist, was a nurse. This web site details the project of the Department of History at New York University to arrange and publish her papers which are in the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College Archives. Medical History on the Internet
Medical History on the Internet is a site maintained by A.J. Wright, MLS of the Department of Anesthesiology Library, School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Links to journals, other web sites as well as e-mail list information are provided.

On-Line Images from the History of Medicine
This system provides access to nearly 60,000 images (reproducing photographs, artwork, and printed texts) drawn from the extensive collection of the History of Medicine Division at the US National Library of Medicine. This database is searchable; this is a very busy website.

Rockefeller Archive Center
The Rockefeller Archives, located in Tarrytown NY, has a significant collection related to nursing AND funding is available for researchers using their collections.
